No matter how good you are at your work, if no one knows it, or if what they perceive or believe about you doesn’t represent your authentic voice, you could be missing some valuable opportunities. So could those people who would benefit from your contribution.
Your personal brand isn’t something you make up – it’s something you discover and bring to life. It’s like your signature – authentically yours and uniquely expressed! It’s the culmination of your experience and the wisdom you’ve gained. It’s you, communicated mindfully and creatively in the world.
Be you, in all your glory!
What is a personal brand? It’s your personal style. It’s the quality of your interactions with others. It’s what and how you contribute to the world. It’s the expression of all these aspects of you, in all the ways that takes place. It’s your overall impression and reputation. It’s the thing you’re known for. When your name comes up, what words come up to describe you? That’s your brand.
If you let your personal brand just happen, it might not be what you want. We live in an era of instant information and your brand is everywhere. It’s essential to your success to take the initiative and make sure your personal brand reflects what you represent!
Here are three steps to create your personal brand and present your wonderful self to the world:
- Discover your brand. Get clarity on your vision and your purpose. Learn how to connect with your intuition and creativity. Determine the areas most important to you and what you want to be known for.
- Clarify and craft your message. Create your story. Uncover your brand descriptor and brand gift. Craft your enhanced introductory pitch. You may also want to explore new ways to communicate interpersonally to minimize confusion and create mutually supportive relationships.
- Bring your brand to life. Create your personal and/or professional brand identity, which could include reviewing and refining your Linked In profile, Facebook profile, Twitter profile, and email signature. Depending on your goals, you may want to enhance your presentation skills and networking practices to ensure you are communicating who you are and what you stand for with confidence and enthusiasm.
This is such a fun and rewarding process of self-discovery. I’d love to support you to discover and bring to life your personal brand! Let’s talk. Andrea@AndreaBeaulieu.com
