The Biopsy Shows Cancer These are words no man is ever prepared to hear, "the prostate biopsy results show cancer." Yet, one in six men in the U.S. is diagnosed with the disease every year. While those words can be grueling for men, they can also take a serious toll on women.
For Steve Frohman and Cindie Hubiak those words meant a whole new journey - as individuals and as a couple. The first part of their journey was treating the disease. The latter set them on a quest to find solutions for the intimacy and emotional issues that often accompany prostate cancer. But instead of resources and answers, they found many dead ends and other frustrated couples who simply could not recover from their own challenges. Determined to change this, the husband-and-wife-team created Solutions for Intimacy. Holding steadfast to the belief that couples and individuals can rebound from prostate cancer stronger than ever, Steve and Cindie conducted extensive research, experimented and assembled a team of health and wellness experts to develop a solution. Today they are thriving and helping other prostate cancer survivors and their partners do the same. Cindie also authored "A Woman's Guide to Thriving after Prostate Cancer," in response to the limited support available to women impacted by prostate cancer. In this newly released book, she shares her personal struggles and stages of the grieving process, as well as the coping strategies she explored throughout the various stages of the disease.
