"Andrea's coaching took me to a whole new level with my story. It was a good story, but now it is a great story that has a powerful impact. Her great questions and listening uncovered parts of the story that had always been there, but because I was so close to the story, I was missing them. I am so grateful for Andrea's talent in bringing out the best in me so I can better serve my audiences." Paula Shoup, Business Coach and Consultant Phoenix, Arizona |

Tell Your Story!
In this issue, we are featuring the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP).
Mark Your Calendar! Be sure to register to attend AFP's April 6 luncheon presentation and workshop. Barbara McNichol and I will be presenting Get Your Story Straight: Tell Your Story Powerfully on the Stage and on the Page!
Generosity of spirit is a beautiful thing. It's that quality we each embody and can share with each other. It comes from a place of unity, kindness, and a desire to support each other.
I've met a number of people who exhibit that generosity of spirit at the Association of Fundraising Professionals. I've only just come to know some of them, but I can tell you, I am impressed, and grateful.
One of those people is Mark Walker. Mark is a fundraising consultant, facilitator and trainer. We first met through the HNK Consultants Community of Practice, and then again at AFP. Mark inspires you because of his willingness to serve and share his knowledge and wisdom with others. He's one of those people who warms your heart. If you want to know more about Mark, his website is FundDevelopmentInnovations.com.
There are many, many others as well. This is not surprising, given what they do. The Association of Fundraising Professionals represents more than 30,000 members in 206 chapters throughout the world working to advance philanthropy through advocacy, research, education, and certification programs. The association fosters the development and growth of fundraising professionals and promotes high ethical standards in the fundraising profession.
The Greater Arizona Chapter has approximately 300 members. The organization conducts a number of educational programs, including monthly luncheons and special workshops. Bottom line, they get together and support each other to work at the highest levels of professionalism in their field.
Were it not for these folks, many of the organizations we depend on to bring us the arts, health and human services, and educational opportunities would not exist. So, I say a big thank you to AFP for the work they do to support not only our community, but our world. I'd call that generosity of spirit.
